Montague dropped its West Michigan Conference Lakes opening doubleheader to Oakridge Tuesday, 18-3 and 17-1.
The
host Eagles, longtime conference powerhouses, took advantage of
Montague walks and some big-time hits to rack up 18 runs in only three
trips to the plate before game one ended by mercy rule. Oakridge had
seven extra-base hits in the win.
Gentry Knop led the Wildcat offense with two hits, and Kaelyn Lohman had a RBI single for Montague.
Game two statistics were not reported.
