Whitehall's late game two rally earned the Vikings a sweep of
Ludington Tuesday in West Michigan Conference Lakes action. Whitehall
won game two 10-9 after a 5-2 win in game one.
In the
nightcap, the Orioles scored jumped ahead 9-8 in the fifth inning, but
the Vikings rallied to tie it in the seventh when Peyton Schultz
singled, was bunted to second by Beth LeaTrea, got to third on a passed
ball, and scored on Kayden Johnson's groundout. The Vikes then won it in
the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Emily Hawkins after Janie Fagan, the
automatic runner at second under softball extra-inning rules, reached
third on a groundout.
Schultz got three hits in the win,
including a double, and scored four times. Johnson drove in two runs.
LeaTrea pitched three shutout innings in relief and struck out six for
the win.

an impressive effort in the circle, striking out an incredible 18

hits and Emily Ames scored twice.
