Montague picked up its first win of the season Thursday night on the road, blanking Grant 3-0.
Wildcats' keeper Sara Zorrilla gave her team an early shot of momentum by making a penalty kick save while the game was still scoreless. The teams remained deadlocked well into the second half.
With just over 20 minutes to play, Lilly Rice got the Wildcats on the board, and six minutes later she had another goal, assisted by freshman Ava Crow.
Crow helped polish off the win with a second assist, finding fellow freshman Fiona Seaver for a late goal that locked up the win.
"With contributions from every class and a clean sheet on defense, the
girls’ dominant performance showcased depth, composure, and momentum as
they move forward in the season," Montague coach Chris Aebig said.
