The 2026 White Lake Winter Speaker Series will coming to a close with a final lecture March 31 at the Book Nook & Java Shop at 7 p.m.
Foley Schuler will present A Frenchman in Omaha: On the Road with Ravel. Schuler combines two of his great loves - travel and the composer Maurice Ravel - in this new presentation detailing various stops on the celebrated French musician’s four-month, nearly 20-city tour of America in 1928. To see Ravel in motion, and against the colorful backdrop of America – not to mention America’s reaction at the seemingly exotic Frenchman – gives fresh insight into his unique music and life, in this lecture that puts the Ravel back in travel.
A suggested donation of $10 accompanies the lecture, which continues the Society’s mission of producing world-class chamber music concerts, promoting and supporting classical music learning opportunities for all ages, and creating awareness of the value and significance of fine music.
