Whitehall battled past Orchard View Tuesday night in overtime, overcoming a tough shooting night to defeat the Cardinals 62-55.
The
Vikings (9-10, 6-4 West Michigan Conference Lakes) led almost the
entire game before the Cardinals rallied to force the extra period. They
were able to get to the line repeatedly, but struggled to capitalize,
shooting 24-of-44 from the charity stripe.
Luckily, Whitehall played well on defense, holding OV to 29% shooting from the field, which made the difference in the win.
Pierce
Westerlund and Evan Thomas scored 16 points each, and Thomas grabbed
seven rebounds, six on the offensive end. Hunter Osborne added 11 points
and seven boards.
