Montague played its best half of the season Thursday against West
Michigan Conference Lakes leader and Division 2 top-10 ranked Ludington,
but the Orioles were able to beat back the Wildcats' opening surge and
win the game, 74-41.
The Wildcats (0-16, 0-9 WMC Lakes) led
the game 8-0 to start things off and were tied at 13 after a quarter.
Ludington led by 10 at halftime, 30-20.
"Our kids are playing
hard, which is a testament to their determination," Montague coach Nick
Thaler said. "In the second half, we could not handle the relentless
pressure that
Ludington applied. They are a very well-coached group, and play at a
chaotic pace."
Karter Johnson led Montague with nine points, and Kellen VanSickle added seven.
