Whitehall's Pierce Westerlund hits record 8 three-pointers in Vikings' rout of Morley-Stanwood

Whitehall junior Pierce Westerlund exploded for a Vikings school record eight three-pointers Tuesday night, lighting up the scoreboard for a career-high 34 points in a 75-48 rout of Morley-Stanwood.
Westerlund was 8-of-14 from distance and 11-of-18 from the field in all, carrying the Vikings to the victory. He had 17 points in the first quarter alone, making four three-pointers in the frame. His performance was all the more remarkable considering that foul trouble resulted in him only playing 24 of the game's 32 minutes.
Also for Whitehall, Elijah Smith scored 12 points, and Corde Anderson grabbed eight rebounds, six of them on the offensive glass, and blocked three shots.
Whitehall was strong defensively, holding the Mohawks to 29 percent shooting from the field and only one three-pointer.
