Shelby wrestling takes 4th at Grand Haven meet, with four top-3 placers

Shelby earned a strong fourth-place finish at the Grand Haven Invitational Saturday, buoyed by a pair of finals appearances from stars Brody Fessenden and Jaylin Henderson.
Both Tiger wrestlers were impressive in their runs to the finals. Henderson recorded pins against each of his first three foes at 165 pounds, and only a 5-2 decision defeat to St. Joseph's Riley Halverson kept him from reaching the top of the podium. Fessenden defeated his first three opponents by technical fall, medical forfeit and by pin, falling to Muskegon's Lamar Bradford in a tight 7-3 decision in the finals.
Nash Hagstrom (138) and Cesar Cadena (120) added third-place finishes for Shelby. Hagstrom rallied from a defeat in his first match to win four matches in a row and take third, three of them bonus-point victories. Cadena reached the semifinals on his way to a 4-1 record, scoring a pin and a major decision among his wins.
