Montague girls basketball silenced by Shelby

Shelby was too much for Montague Wednesday night, as the Tigers raced to a big lead and defeated the Wildcats 63-17.
Shelby, which is receiving votes in the most recent Division 3 Associated Press poll, outscored the Wildcats 22-8 in the first quarter and overwhelmed Montague with its athletic defense throughout the game.
Gentry Knop and Marguerite O'Connell each scored six points for the Wildcats. Jayna Burmeistr had 28 points for Shelby.
