Montague boys basketball comeback falls short against Shelby

Montague stormed back from a double-digit fourth-quarter deficit Wednesday night but was unable to come up with its first win of the season, falling to Shelby 56-51.
The Wildcats (0-11) outscored Shelby 17-8 in the final quarter, but turned the ball over a few too many times late in the game to complete the comeback.
Coach Nick Thaler expressed pride in his team's effort and believes better days are soon to come.
"We need to be able to play with more sense of urgency, attention to detail, and with togetherness," Thaler said. "I believe in this team. It is the habits we currently are battling, and we have to be able to work through those together."
Cole Herremans led the 'Cats with 17 points, and Noah Raeth chipped in 11.
