Whitehall lost its season opener at Spring Lake Tuesday night, 62-46, ending a string of three straight Viking regular-season wins in the series between two of the area's top programs.
The Vikes grabbed an early lead and were up 14-10 after a quarter, but Spring Lake took command of the game from there.
Despite the defeat, Viking senior Corde Anderson enjoyed an efficient performance, leading the team with 13 points and grabbing nine rebounds. He also blocked four shots. Elijah Smith added 12 points, and Pierce Westerlund and Hunter Osborne each pulled in six boards.
Max Feltner paced all scorers with 17 points for the Lakers.
