Reeths-Puffer went 1-0-1 at the weekend's Traverse City Showcase,
defeating the Bay Reps 3-2 in overtime Saturday after a 2-2 tie with
Gabriel Richard Friday.
In the Saturday win, Jordan Benkert
had the game-winning goal in overtime, with assists from Chase Strunk
and Michael Flanagan. Dom Switzer and Hayden Taylor scored in
regulation.
Netminder Bear VanDyke played well, overcoming the Rockets' shots on goal disadvantage (28-18) by making 26 saves.
Reeths-Puffer played Gabriel Richard to a 2-2 tie Friday thanks to an impressive effort from VanDyke.
VanDyke
turned back 29 of the 31 shots on goal by the Pioneers. All four goals
in the game were scored in the second period, and the Rockets' goals
came from Strunk and Benkert.
