Reeths-Puffer took second place at Saturday's Hartland Duals, posting a 4-1 record.
The Rockets swept their four pool matches, including an exciting 38-37 victory over Plainwell, to advance to the finals against Division 1 No. 4-ranked Hartland. R-P dropped that match 66-11.
Also in pool play, the Rockets defeated Troy Athens (46-33), Flushing (46-28) and the Hartland B team (44-30).
R-P's highlight of the day was the performance of freshman Landon Learn, who dominated all five of his matches. Learn secured four pins in the pool-play matches and earned one of the Rockets' two wins against Hartland by scoring a technical fall.
Travis Henderson was nearly as effective, missing a perfect 5-0 record only because of an overtime defeat against Plainwell. Henderson pinned his opponent in the Hartland dual and earned pool-play wins by decision, major decision and technical fall.
Jake Rozycki also went 4-1 for the Rockets, pinning three opponents and adding a win by technical fall.
