Whitehall earned its first West Michigan Conference Lakes win of the season Tuesday at Manistee, beating the Mariners in three close games, 25-23, 25-23, 25-21.
The Vikings (4-21, 1-3 WMC Lakes) served well in the match, making only seven errors while recording nine aces. Lou Mulder and Delaney Kramer each had three to tie for the team lead.
Mayson Milliron and Kate Beda each posted 19 digs to lead the Viking defense, and Clare Westerlund had a pair of blocks. Offensively, Mulder had 16 assists, setting up Kramer for a team-best 10 kills on a solid .258 hitting percentage. Mulder and Braelee Fogus added eight kills apiece.
