Reeths-Puffer closed its regular season Thursday with a 1-1 mark at the Fremont Tri. The Rockets defeated Reed City 25-12, 25-20 and lost a tough match to Fremont, 23-25, 25-12, 25-17.
R-P coach Justin Birr said the host Packers picked up their serving after his team took game one, leading to passing struggles on the Rockets' side.
"Ending the regular season with a loss is tough, but I'm confident our
team can learn from it and keep growing as a team," Birr said. "We pulled up a couple
more players, so now we have two freshmen, four sophomores, three juniors, and five seniors on our team. The next few days of practice are a great time for
our seniors to lead one more time and for our underclassmen to continue
learning more at a higher level."
Kate Tindall led the Rockets (19-20) with 41 assists. Mairyn Peterson and Makayla Disselkoen each had 13 kills, and Peterson also had five aces. Tindall paced the defense with 11 digs.
