Reeths-Puffer was overwhelmed by Byron Center in O-K Green Conference play Thursday, dropping a 25-10, 25-13, 25-11 decision.
Kate Tindall posted 10 digs on defense and piloted the offense with 12 assists, but on the whole the Bulldogs controlled the match, as expected of a team with their pedigree; they sat at No. 5 in Division 1 in Michigan Power Rating, the system used to seed the postseason field, through Thursday.
"The top tier of the O-K Green continues to be tough for
us," R-P coach Justin Birr said. "We continue to
compete and look good in some rallies. Then in others we are just
outmatched."
Lexie Danz led the attacking with five kills, and Peyton Radel had a pair of blocks.
"I am very
proud of our girls for staying positive as a team," Birr said. "Only playing one game
per week and having it be an extremely tough opponent is tough on
morale, but our team has been pretty resilient through it."
