Reeths-Puffer finished fourth in the final O-K Green Conference jamboree of the season Tuesday, hosted by Jenison.
The Rockets' team score was 192. In all only 20 strokes separated first-place Byron Center from fifth-place Jenison.
Sophia
McCollum again led the Rockets in scoring with a 39, but this time she
was joined by Olivia Ambler, who also shot a 39. The duo tied for second
place individually, and for Ambler, it was her best nine-hole score in
varsity play. She scored a pair of birdies on the way to her milestone.
"Olivia had a breakout round tonight," R-P coach Matt Pallett said. "She has been close to putting a
great round together. Tonight was her night. I am happy for her.”
McCollum also scored a birdie during her round.
Ella Voorhies shot a 55 and Ava Gibbs chipped in a 59 to close out R-P scoring.
The conference celebrated senior night, giving the Rockets the chance to honor seniors Gibbs, Jaylynn Acre and Keeley Cole.
"I have three seniors who have worked hard to put themselves in position
all year to help this team," Pallett said. "When it is all said and done we will greatly
miss (them). We appreciate them for
their effort.”
