Whitehall tennis wins close match over Reeths-Puffer

Whitehall won a close match against area foe Reeths-Puffer Thursday by a 5-3 score.
All eight matches were won in straight sets. The Viking doubles pairs all won, making the difference in the match.
The top two Whitehall doubles pairs were particularly dominant in their wins. No. 1 pair Ian Sampson/Evan Thomas scored a 6-0, 6-0 victory, while Adam Sikkenga/Remington Whelpley won by a 6-0, 6-1 margin.
Also in doubles play, Cameron Cook/Elijah Roberge picked up a 6-0, 6-4 win, and Lukas McKee/Jonathan Roberge earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
Wyatt Burger continued his hot streak at No. 3 singles, scoring his seventh straight win with a 6-1, 6-4 victory.
The Rockets were strong in the other singles flights. Top two players Ethan Frang and Cory Judd won by margins of 6-1, 6-1 and, in a much tighter match, 7-6(8), 6-1 respectively. No. 4 singles player Henrik Ketner got a 6-4, 6-2 win for the Rockets.
