Whitehall tennis 1-2 at home quad; Evan Schuitema, Wyatt Burger each win 3 matches

Whitehall went 1-2 at a home quad meet Saturday, earning an 8-0 win over Harbor Springs but dropping matches to Glen Lake, 5-3, and to Grand Rapids South Christian, 6-2.
Evan Schuitema and Wyatt Burger, the Vikings' No. 2 and No. 3 singles players respectively, enjoyed standout days, each winning all three of their matches. Each had to go the maximum three sets once - Burger fought off Glen Lake's Ludo Polic by a 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 score, while Schuitema edged South Christian's Ben Vos 3-6, 6-1, 10-2 - but earned two straight-set wins as well.
No. 2 doubles pair Adam Sikkenga/Remington Whelpley posted a 2-1 mark on the day, winning a three-set battle against Bryce Cundiff/Garrett Bridges of Glen Lake, 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.
Winners against Harbor Springs were William Burger and Scout Freiheit in singles play, and doubles pairs Ian Sampson/Evan Thomas, Cameron Cook/Elijah Roberge and Aiden Strandberg/Lukas McKee.
