Shelby earned a 2-0 record at Thursday's Mason County Eastern Tri,
fighting off Montague 25-23, 25-16 and picking up an easy win over MCE,
25-10, 25-18.
The Tigers excelled at the service line, with
Brylee Friedman notching seven aces and Delanie Smith adding six. Smith
had a team-high 14 digs.
On offense, Peyton Rapes set things
up with 31 assists, and Briar Peters led the attacks with 12 kills.
Kylie Brown showed great efficiency on her seven kills, with hitting
percentages of .571 against MCE and .333 against Montague.
"Two solid team wins for us, with a lot of girls stepping up in key moments," Shelby coach McKenna Peters said.
