Montague surrendered a five-goal outburst to Manistee late in the
first half of Monday's West Michigan Conference battle, which ended up
being the difference in an 8-3 defeat.
The game was tied at 1
early in the first half before the Mariners ripped off five consecutive
goals, four of them by star player Max Scharp.
The Wildcats
(2-8-1, 1-4-1 WMC) pushed back in the second half with goals by Steven
Aebig and Jonah Henderson, but could not pull off a comeback, pushing
their current winless streak to five games.
