Hart did well to steal game one from West Michigan Conference Rivers power North Muskegon Tuesday night, but the Norse responded by dominating the final three games, defeating the Pirates 24-26, 25-5, 25-14, 25-13.
"North Muskegon got on
a roll and never looked back," Hart coach Shawn Bectel said of the final three games. "We played hard tonight, but just couldn't
regain our momentum."
Hart's best work came at the service line, as the Pirates (9-11-1, 1-1 WMC Rivers) made only two errors the entire match. Caydence Bateson had three of the team's seven aces.
Alayna Schiller led a balanced defensive effort with 16 digs; Bateson and Rilynn Porter each added 13. Cali Eisenlohr had 12 assists with Grace Tucker chipping in 11, and Reese Smith led the offense with eight kills.
