Reeths-Puffer soccer has great start to season, going 4-0-1 at Boyne Mountain tourney

Reeths-Puffer enjoyed a terrific start to its season over the weekend, going 4-0-1 at the two-day Boyne Mountain tournament. The games lasted only 50 minutes as opposed to the regulation 80, but do count to the team's record for Michigan Power Rating purposes.
The Rockets opened things up Friday with impressive wins over Charlevoix and Harbor Springs, by 5-0 and 4-0 scores respectively.
Owen Ritsema led the Rocket offense on day one with three goals, and Cohen Beck and Kaleb Fowler each had a goal and two assists. Keepers Liam Copenhaver and Caden Macomber teamed up to record a pair of shutouts.
On Saturday, R-P picked up two more wins, defeating Jackson Northwest 2-0 and Gaylord 1-0. Maybe the most notable performance, though, came in a 1-1 tie against defending state champion Pontiac Notre Dame Prep.
Copenhaver earned two shutouts in goal, and Ritsema again paced the offense, scoring both goals in the Rockets' win over Jackson Northwest. Chase Hoeft had the team's goal in the Gaylord win, and Evan McHugh scored against Notre Dame Prep.
