McCollum stars again as Reeths-Puffer golf takes 3rd at conference opening jamboree

Reeths-Puffer finished third in Wednesday's O-K Green Conference opening jamboree hosted by Byron Center, scoring a team total of 200. Byron Center and Caledonia easily led the field in first and second place respectively.
Sophia McCollum enjoyed another excellent round for R-P, tying for medalist honors with a 39. McCollum didn't shoot worse than bogey on any of her nine holes played and improved her score by 10 strokes over her performance at Railside Golf Club a year ago.
“Sophia is off to a great start to her season," R-P coach Matt Pallett said. "She followed up her 1st place finish in the two day Lober Classic by tying for the lowest round on another difficult course. Following up a good round with another good round is not always easy to do.”
Ella Voorhies shot a 48 for the Rockets, and Olivia Ambler had a 49. Ava Gibbs rounded out team scoring with a 64.
“The O-K Green conference is tough," Pallett said. "Byron Center has a really nice team. I feel that we have a lot of upside with this team. I like our attitudes. We will continue to work.”
