Reeths-Puffer split an O-K Green Conference doubleheader against
Jenison Tuesday, winning game two 4-2 after a 1-0 defeat in game one.
A
quick start propelled the Rockets (16-6, 7-4 O-K Green) to the game-two
win, as they scored twice each in the second and third innings, taking
advantage of some Wildcat miscues and good baserunning. Olivia Ambler
got two hits in the win. Lainey McDaniel started the game and got the
win, allowing three hits in three shutout innings. Mady Snyder pitched
four innings and allowed two runs.
Jenison took the opener,
scoring the game's only run in the sixth inning. The teams only got
three hits between them; the Rockets also drew six walks but were unable
to cash any of them in. McDaniel again pitched an excellent game,
allowing only two hits and an unearned run. She struck out 11 without a
walk. Kyleigh Bilek had the team's only hit, and Tessa Ross drew three
walks.
