Reeths-Puffer battered Muskegon Tuesday in an O-K Green Conference doubleheader, 29-0 and 18-0.
The Rockets (21-10, 10-5 O-K Green) won both contests in three innings due to the mercy rule.
R-P's
bats were very effective in each game, of course, but in game one the
Rockets also drew 16 walks in addition to getting 16 hits. Every Rocket
scored at least twice.
Aubrey Clark smashed a two-run home run
and had a two-run triple in the game, driving in five runs in all.
Tessa Ross got three hits, scored four times and drove in eight runs,
and Brook Buchan got three hits and scored four times. Olivia Ambler
also got three hits.
Lainey McDaniel pitched a three-inning perfect game, and only one Big Red put the ball in play as McDaniel struck out eight.
Things
didn't change in game two as the Rockets again got 16 hits. Ross and
Kyleigh Bilek led the charge with three hits and four RBI apiece. Abbie
Critchett scored four times and drove in four runs, and Clark scored
three times. Mady Snyder pitched her own three-inning perfect game and
only allowed one ball to be put in play, striking out eight.
