Reeths-Puffer golf struggles with fast greens, finishes 5th in midseason conference tourney

Reeths-Puffer struggled to adjust to the especially firm and fast greens Wednesday in the O-K Green Conference midseason tournament at The Meadows, coming in fifth place with a team score of 377.
The conference meets had been close throughout the standings to this point in the season, but R-P came in 45 shots behind winner Mona Shores.
“I like this team," R-P coach Matt Pallett said. "I feel we have not put our best golf out there yet. We will continue to work hard in practice. We will practice with a purpose. We will get better and it will show in future events.”
Kristian Brown finished seventh individually, shooting an 87, followed by Kye Grant with a 96. Grant made a birdie. Kaeden Benner and Aiden Waggoner each shot a 97 to round out the team scoring; Waggoner made two birdies.
“A number of guys struggled early today," Pallett said. "A bright spot is how they kept things positive and took each of the next holes as a new challenge.”
