Reeths-Puffer put together a strong performance Tuesday at its home jamboree, finishing only six strokes behind first-place Caledonia with a team score of 164.
So competitive was the jamboree that the Rockets still finished in fourth place despite being so close to the top. Byron Center finished one stroke behind Caledonia, and Mona Shores was third, two shots back.
Kristian Brown tied for fifth place overall and led the Rockets with a score of 39. He shot two birdies during the round. Aiden Waggoner posted a 40, and Kaeden Benner shot a 42. Benner had the Rockets' biggest highlight of the day when he scored an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole.
Rounding out the team score was Ayden Hartzell, who shot a 43.
"I am loving how my guys are competing," Rockets' coach Matt Pallett said. "We are so close to having some really good individual and team rounds together...I always love how my guys are not satisfied with their performance.”
