Reeths-Puffer baseball's bats quiet again in doubleheader loss to Jenison

Reeths-Puffer's bats continued to struggle Tuesday against O-K Green Conference foe Jenison, as the Rockets only scored two runs in a doubleheader loss.
The visiting Wildcats won a 2-0 pitchers' duel in game one and routed R-P 13-2 in the second game. Reeths-Puffer has scored only three times in its last five games.
Colton Bessinger had a strong outing on the mound in the opener, allowing only five hits and two runs in six innings, but the Rockets (4-11, 1-10 O-K Green) only collected two hits at the plate. Bessinger got one of them and also drew a walk.
In game two, R-P briefly cut an early deficit to 2-1 in the second inning when Jayden Wiseman delivered a sacrifice fly, but Jenison scored three runs in the top of the third and pulled away. Again the Rockets had only two hits, one each by Brayden Mitchelson and Quinn Alderink. Holden Earnest pitched 1 1/3 innings of relief, allowing one hit and no earned runs. R-P committed three errors that led to eight unearned runs.
