Reeths-Puffer couldn't get any runs on the board Tuesday against Division 1 No. 17-ranked Byron Center, losing O-K Green Conference games 5-0 and 12-0.
R-P (4-8, 1-7 O-K Green) managed three hits against the Bulldogs in game one, but a three-run first-inning outburst by Byron Center was enough to secure its win. Colton Bessinger pitched the game, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and striking out four.
Another three-run first inning propelled Byron Center to a mercy-rule win in game two. The Bulldogs scored seven times in the fifth. The Rockets got two hits.
