Montague track teams split home tri meet

Montague split both the boys' and girls' meets Tuesday at a home tri meet against Ludington and Orchard View.
Both teams beat Orchard View - the girls won 74-41 and the boys won 64-56 - but lost to the Orioles.  Those scores were 77-58 in the girls' meet and 92-40 in the boys' meet in Ludington's favor.
Three Wildcat girls won two events apiece, highlighted by Addison Smith's personal best in the 100-meter dash. She ran the race in 13.67 seconds. Smith also won the pole vault with a mark of 7-6.
Amanda Cederquist won both throws, with marks of 77-5 in the discus and 32-11 in the shot put. Annelyse Schneider took wins in both jumping events, leaping 14-0.25 in the long jump and 4-10 in the high jump.
The Montague boys earned four event wins. Riley Mulder and Brock Hunter each scored personal bests in their wins; Mulder won the 100-meter dash in 11.61 seconds, and Hunter pole vaulted 9-6.
Isaiah King earned a high jump win with a mark of 5-4, and Devlin Dean leapt 19-5 to win the long jump.
