Montague only needed one half to earn a pre-district victory over Orchard View Thursday night, 8-0.
The Wildcats (12-8) poured in the eight goals in the first 40 minutes, forcing the game to end by mercy rule at halftime. With the win, they advanced to a semifinal Wednesday against Newaygo, to be played at Whitehall.
Lilly Rice led the Montague onslaught with three goals and Braylyn Bultema added two. Ava Pelton, Allyson Balder and Adilynn Peterson also each got on the board in the win.
