Reeths-Puffer's girls team earned a split of Tuesday's Jenison Tri meet, defeating Muskegon 76-46. The Rocket girls lost to a strong Jenison squad 93-34.
The R-P boys came up short in both meets, losing 76-55 to Muskegon and 121-16 to Jenison.
Raquel Walker led the Rocket girls with two personal bests in the sprint events. She won the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.20 seconds and won the 200 in a time of 26.88 seconds.
Jersi Bilek added a win for R-P in the 800-meter run, with a time of 2:29.0. She also joined the 800 relay team of Ivanna Kass, Addison Mitchelson and Melana Johnson to pick up a win in that race, posting a time of 1:52.3.
The R-P boys did not win any events in the tri meet. Top performers were Dalton Radosa, who finished second in shot put and set a personal best of 41-2, and two relay teams. The 800 relay team of London Rankin, Marvin Moore, Emcee McLaurin and Cody Piper was second (1:32.6), and the 3,200 relay team of Matthew Grimard, Samuel Perez, Niilo Katajisto and Dylan Sturr was second (11:34.6).
