Montague track teams earn wins over Manistee

Montague swept Manistee Tuesday in a West Michigan Conference Lakes dual meet. The girls team picked up an 81-55 win, while the boys edged the Mariners 67-63.
Annelyse Schneider earned two individual wins for the Wildcats, taking both the long jump (14-4) and the high jump (4-10). Addison Smith added a win in pole vault with a mark of 8-0, and Amanda Cederquist set a new season best in the 100-meter hurdles, winning in a time of 17.41 seconds.
All three also contributed to a win in the 800 relay, joining Cadence Fox to win the race in a time of 2:09.8.
Carmen Howard set a personal best to win the 3,200, posting a time of 16:46.1. Grace Torsch won the 800 in a time of 3:01.8, and Gabriella Dietz won the 300 hurdles in a time of 59.02 seconds.
Montague also won the 400 and 3,200 relays. The sprint relay saw Molly Mulder, Antonia Ludwig, Candela Garcia and Willa Van Loon come out on top in a time of 57.46 seconds, and in the distance relay, it was Grace Reavey, Carmen Howard, April Howard and Breanna Berry winning in a time of 11:03.6.
Every point counted in the Montague boys' four-point win, and three personal bests in wins were instrumental to the team. They all came in field events; Isaac French set a personal best of 47-3 in shot put, Logan Hansen set one of 115-9 in discus, and Isaiah King cleared 5-8 in high jump to win their events.
Alix Draves and Gibson Sholes each won a distance event, with Draves taking the 800 in a time of 2:23.9 and Sholes the 3,200 with a time of 11:18.3. The duo also joined Nolan Kessler and Noah Raeth to win the 3,200 relay in a time of 9:06.4.
Caleb Lohman won the 800 in a time of 58.05 seconds. He also was part of two relay wins, joining Talan Degen and Wyatt Grawey in both. Those three ran with Riley Mulder to win the 800 (1:40.2) and ran with Devlin Dean to take the 1,600 (4:02.3).
