Whitehall had a solid day Saturday against rugged competition at the Rockford Invitational, going 3-2.
The
Vikings took close defeats to Division 2 No. 6 Greenville (43-27) and
Division 1 No. 7 Rockford (36-32). They beat the Rockford B team (68-9),
St. Joseph (40-28) and Jackson Northwest (43-24).
Blake
English and Gavin Craner were the Vikings' top performers, each going
5-0. Craner pinned all five of his opponents, and English scored a pin
and a technical fall among his five victories.
Wyatt Jenkins
went 4-1, with his only loss coming in overtime, and scored three pins
and a technical fall. Caden Varela and Liam Leeke each also went 4-1
with three wins by pin.
