Reeths-Puffer earned the top spot at Saturday's Cedar Springs Red
Hawk Rumble, scoring 711.6 points to edge three other teams that
eclipsed the 700-point mark.
R-P finished 6.96 points ahead of second-place Cedar Springs, with Fruitport and DeWitt close behind.
The
 difference for the Rockets was the ability to avoid penalty points;
Cedar Springs and Fruitport each accrued eight penalty points in the
final round, and R-P did not have any in its three rounds.
R-P's
 best scoring round was the second round, in which it had 209.6 points.
That was the only round the Rockets led all teams in scoring, but R-P
was a close second in both the first and third rounds.
