Reeths-Puffer finally got a break from playing the grueling top of the O-K Green Conference, closing out the first half of league play with a 25-6, 25-12, 25-9 win over Muskegon.
"It was great to get back into the win column, and great to see all 12 of
our (uninjured) girls get some playing time," Rockets' coach Justin Birr said. "Our team was very
supportive of each other throughout the night, and we got to have a
little fun."
R-P (9-15, 1-4 O-K Green) mixed things up with its lineup to keep its players engaged against the struggling Big Reds. Carlee Bowen and Chloe Brainard tried their hands at outside hitting, a shift from their usual libero responsibilities, and Hailey Johnsen got into the match and hit in the middle.
Madilynn Dyer stayed where she usually is at setter and passed out 17 assists to go with a team-best five aces. Alissa Klopp led the offense with six kills, and Abby Machinski chipped in four aces.
